The Product Development SR Associate RTW Wovens and Embellishment will lead the development of the RTW product focusing on woven styles as a key liaison between the teams of design, production, merchandising, tech, sample room and Europe for Woven categories. Sr. Associate will also be responsible for PD of Embellishments; Managing calendar, timing, pricing, allocation and keeping the design team of EMB communicating with all cross-functional teams and categories (woven, knit and sweaters). Sr. Associate will maintain support on large scale, fast moving seasonal developments adhering to operation timeline while focused on efficient leadership across Woven RTW. Responsible for articulating timeliness, requirements, accuracy and execution of samples to cross functional teams. Reports to Manager of RTW Wovens.


Development Management

  • Close partnership and daily communication alongside design/merch/tech teams.
  • Support Manager with Tech/Patternmaker/Sample room for NYPR styles. Work directly and be in daily communication with sample room manager, tech teams, patternmakers for any updates. Responsible to support manager to manage process of information in NYOSR.
  • Initiate and maintain style tracker to capture FULL life cycle information of a style from conception to production for NYPR made product.
  • Attend all TP handoffs with designers and tech and call out questions to make sure garments are executable. Participation in VC with overseas/factories to have clear instructions for development execution for all NYPR product.
  • Daily communication with overseas offices in EU, outside vendors domestically and internationally and internal offices to answer questions, solve problems, maintain processes and keep teams aligned on calendar
  • Review embellishment alongside Embellishment team and manager to understand costing of components and cost for what is affordable from bulk to show. Responsible to SWAG this cost as part of garment SWAG (see costing).
  • Work closely with design and NYPR to develop mockup’s to pass to vendors to advise on cost, leadtime and allocation at development stage to stay ahead of bulk
  • Work closely with NYPR management team to understand LT of styles made and communicate to vendors for T&A.



  • Support manager to SWAG (estimate costing) all NYPR and any pending styles for merchants for line opening.
  • Hold SMS costing reviews Merchants and Production teams at proto and SMS milestones. Communicate any at risk styles for IMU during development calendar accordingly.
  • Work with design on layouts of embellishments/embroideries/prints to see if workable with margins and if not, suggestions and cost alternatives to be in alignment (also see Embellishment).
  • Work with fabric team and merchants to review fabric costs and flag potential cost concerns as well as development/testing concerns


  • Responsible to attend proto, SMS and production fittings and capture/alert to teams changes and implications to cost, aesthetic and delivery.
  • Responsible to adhere to fitting protocol and manage teams in fittings to stay on track to calendar, notes discussed in Tory reviews and design comments.
  • Troubleshoot, problem solve and suggest “best practices” of construction details while maintaining company aesthetic, cost margins and deliverables.

Bill of Materials

  • Responsible for initiation and maintenance of Woven BOM’s specific to NYPR for development up until SMS. At SMS stage will be passed to allocated office for BULK BOM’s.
  • Partner with Design, Technical, Merchandising, NYOSR and overseas teams to balance accuracy of information on Wovens BOM at Proto, SMS.
  • Participate in Proto and SMS fittings to take detailed notes to review then update changes into PDM for BOM
  • Responsible to set up BOM reviews prior to release with cross functional teams through calendar invites
  • Demonstrate clear and accurate verbal & written communication skills- organize and release BOMs in a timely manner to overseas merchants
  • Make sure details are aligned from season to season (ex: zippers, labels, entry methods of items into system). Partner with trim and PD team cross category and styles for consistency.
  • Responsible for stream lining changes in BOM details for RTW. Work with PD partners for alignment on trim and consistency.


  • Responsible for partnering with EMB design team to build and adhere to development calendars
  • Responsible for partnering with EMB design team to review EMB submits to be within line of target costing
  • Work with PD leads to advise target submit costing to EMB design team during development at seasonal milestones
  • Work with overseas EMB team, as well as direct with vendors, to obtain costing in timely manner
  • Work with overseas EMB team, as well as direct with vendors to obtain testing in a timely manner and on milestones. Partner with PD and production to communicate results
  • Build T&A alongside PD/Production to account for EMB L/T
  • Partner to allocate EMB techniques to the right suppliers/countries
  • Support design to meet their targets and PD/Production for IMU %


Metric Reporting

  • Support manager to maintain and manage style tracker to capture adoption rates for styles at style level and pattern level.
  • Report adoption rates seasonally at proto and SMS stages for NYPR, as well as EMB
  • Report and track Development numbers at Tech Pack pass off stages
  • Adhere to calendar deadlines and communicate when calendar or development is at risk



  • Partner with Production to pass off all costing at seasonal milestone
  • Work closely with production department to communicate changes and aesthetic
  • Partner with production department regarding T&A and production calendar deliverables throughout calendars
  • Partner with production to discuss garment execution/aesthetic to get ahead of timing, cost and allocation


Process and System work-

  • PDM (Product Database Management)- strong system usage of a product management system (any previous). Will be responsible to attend monthly meetings of PDM releases and become a seasoned user
  • OPTITEX- closely work with our Optitex system in NYPR for costing tools, cutters must, emb layouts, print placements, markers, etc.


  • High School Education accepted; Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • 6-7 years of experience within Industry or 4 years within development of product. Preferred Manager level is 2 years.
  • Experience working with local and oversea manufacturing.
  • Understanding of product lead times and garment construction.
  • Demonstrated proficiency within Microsoft applications.
  • Proficiency in software similar to Web PDM.
