    Overview

    The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the areas of Cash, Prepaid Assets, and a variety of other accounts, in addition to comprehensive analysis. This role will manage the monthly close process for the aforementioned areas. This position will collaborate with accounting colleagues and will be an integral part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. The Staff Accountant will liaise with our external, Big 4 auditors and be involved in Sarbanes Oxley compliance.

    Responsibilities

    * Participate in month end close process Ensure compliance with accounting policies and reporting deadlines with a concentration in retail and wholesale cash reconciliations and prepaid expenses

    * Ensure transactions are performed within a sound internal control environment

    * Perform various balance sheet account analysis to ensure these accounts are accurately reflected in the financial statements

    * Prepare schedules for external auditors in connection with audits.

    * Provide support to various departments to ensure all activity is recorded in the general ledger in a timely basis

    * Review results and explain fluctuations over prior quarter, prior year and other time periods as required

    * Assist Accounting Team with adhoc projects as needed

    * Continue to expand role when possible into other facets of the department

    * Act as a liaison with the IT department to ensure success with cash processes

    * General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls

    * Experience with ERP – SAP and/or EBS preferred

    * Ability to drive process improvements and develop systematic processes

    * Advanced proficiency is use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outl

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

    * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

    * Minimum of three years of progressive experience
